Hey there guys,

 

As you can see, I’ve been working on the site a bit.  I know I’ve been all kinds of absent lately and while on one front I’m sorry and on another, well, things happen.  Priorities happen.  So WOTM has been on hiatus and I’m not quite sure when I’ll fully be back on it.

I know the site needs updating as far as links, menus, all that.  I’m fully aware of that.  While I stepped away, Stamford saw a surge of new openings and unfortunately, closings.  It’s been a hell of a Summer all around.  However I’m proud to say that I finally came through on my promise to change the look and feel of the site!!

As of this writing, I’m saying to you now that I’m not sure what direction this site will be going in the future. It is a very strong possibility that the daily happenings will no longer be posted.

Why you may ask?

I’m going to be very honest with you guys now because of your loyalty and support of this site.  Frankly it comes down to time and money when making this decision. What many don’t realize is that the daily happenings can on many days, take up to 2 to 3 hours to put together. And the more places that open in our fair city, the longer it takes to put the happenings together.  This is an incredible amount of work without getting one dime for it.  While I finally have a few folks interested in advertising once the new version gets up there, doing those posts daily may have to take a backseat for now.

Answering a popular question now…What’s on the Menu? despite our name, was never meant to be a ‘foodie’ site. I don’t do reviews, there are plenty of other (and awesome) sites that do that. What’s on the Menu? has always meant, “what’s going on?”  My friends and I used to say that all the time and that is where the title comes from. Stamford is a large city that has an incredible amount going on. Between nightlife, daylife and everything in between, there will always be a lot to write and post about.  I’ve tried to keep up with posts on our Facebook and Twitter feeds, adding pics to our Instagram here and there…but please understand that the time is not quite there to do regular posting.  But I’m working on it. 🙂

I can’t thank you guys enough for sticking it out while this is going on and hopefully, with the busy holiday season (yes, including HALLOWEEN!) we’ll be posting about where you can go and celebrate! In the meantime, I do hope you like the new look and feel of the site and will continue to follow us on FB and Twitter–we do try to add stuff there daily when we can.
